Everyday Chic: I’m Back!!
I went on a bit of a hiatus. I travelled back to Ohio to see my parents and my brother’s recently renovated house. The final outcome of the house was rather impressive. My Dad and brother did all of the work together, right down to making the trim and restoring the hard wood floors. The place looks great and we can’t wait to cook out there when we return to the area for Memorial Day.
Then, my Mom and I drove back to NY and she spent the weekend with us. We did all thinks Brooklyn. Artisan fairs, pizza, neighborhood shopping, take-out and old movies. A relaxed and low-key weekend. Just perfect!
Now, I’m back and I’m ready to give you some great Mother’s Day gift ideas since that is right around the corner. They key to giving the perfect gift is easy….here are a few tips.
Think about your Mom. What does she really like? Any hobbies? Any favorite shops? What does she love to do in her spare time?
Ok, now what would she like to have but maybe find to be too much of a “treat”. The best gifts are things that everyone loves to own, but don’t really love to buy. This won’t apply to everyone you buy a gift for, but it is worth thinking about.
OK, so now for the fun part. The gift ideas!
For the Mom who loves fashion, loves getting dressed up and loves beautiful things. Here are a few of my favorites:
Stripes are big this season. This infinity scarf from Echo, is the perfect summer accessory at only $38! And with summer just around the corner, this is a great choice!

Every lady loves some jewels…..so how about this bold necklace? Long layers, a little bling, silver & gold, perfect over a tee…..Love it! Via J Crew for $128.

The necklace a little much for your Mom? Maybe too fashion forward? Well, then I say go for some classic earrings. Perfect, every day wear with just a little pop of color. These are by Kate Spade via Bloomingdales for $45.

For the busy Mom, always multi-tasking, working and keeping the family together here are some functional, but still beautiful ideas.
I think a wallet is perfect. Everyone loves to pull out a beautiful wallet, but it isn’t the most exciting purchase to make. This one is a bit of a splurge at $225, but it really is beautiful and the Kate Spade’s do last a life time! This is classic and sweet via Bloomingdales.

Another great gift, is luxurious bath soap, like this relaxing formula from Molton Brown. I think they have, by leaps and bounds, the BEST soap ever. It’s $28 for the shower gel, but it sure is delish! The hand soaps & lotions are also awesome, just FYI :-)

Does your Mom love to cook? If so, who wouldn’t want to cook in this bright blue French Oven from Le Creuset. Just looking at these pans makes me want to whip up something delightful!

Does your Mom prefer not to have stuff but rather DO stuff?
If so, the possibilities are endless. Tickets to the local theatre? A gift certificate for her favorite eatery or cafe? A trip to the spa?
Whatever you do, Mom will be grateful just because you thought of her! Happy shopping all and once my Mom and Mom-In-Law receive their gifts I’ll be sure to post what I chose (hint, I didn’t feature it here yet :-)
Happy Tuesday!
XoXo
