Everyday Chic: School Pictures
Yesterday was a beautiful day. It was in the 70’s, the sun was shining, the flowers were blooming and I was walking around Brooklyn. Oh, good day!
This dress is reminiscent of school pictures for me. I have a vivid memory of a particular school picture where my hair is short and I’m wearing my favorite dress - a pastel hued shirt dress that had a woven belt. I remember loving that dress and when I wear this dress I am always reminded of younger years!! I also believe this was the 2nd grade, I think I forced my Mom to let me get my hair cut really short. Like, pixie short. Yeah, I’m pretty sure I had some strong opinions from the beginning.
This dress didn’t come with a belt, so I added this leather woven belt to give a little definition to my waist. The dress is super comfy and I love it’s crisp and spring-y feel!
And, I paired it with some comfy wedges for cruising the hood.
Where: No where in particular - just walking around Brooklyn!
Inspiration: Nostalgia. I am always drawn to shirt dresses. 2nd grade must have been a good one for me despite the funny face I’m making in that school pic.
Outfit:
Dress: BB Dakota
Belt: Tracy Reese (this belt is several years old - but I love it’s transformative powers)
Wedges: Lili Mill (Last summer via Eric on 7th in Park Slope)
It might hit 80 today!
Warm weather keeps my spirits high!!
