Everyday Chic: Must-Have Monday
It’s been a few days, so I’m sorry for my absence on here lately. I am working on a new venture, which I will share more about very soon and we have been working on a few projects. This is such exciting stuff! Everyday that I get to complete one of these projects is really great and I leave at the end of the day excited to start the next day. It’s a great feeling. However, the portion of the project we have been and will continue to work on this week do not require me to get so dressed up, meaning my outfits have been a bit lackluster and thus, no pics. Hopefully, I’ll have a few evening outings this week to make up for it!!
I also haven’t done a Must-Have Monday in a while. Since today is gloomy and cool where I’m at, this edition will likely be filled with some bright and fun spring/summer pieces. In fact, I’ve been dreaming of a little trip to the beach. So, here are a few things I’m coveting over my morning coffee which would go just lovely in my day dreams.
First, is a brightly colored skirt from Built by Wendy. It’s called the “Arles Skirt” and comes in Black (quite chic and classic) and Persian Blue (bright and fun). It retails for $135 and can be purchased here. I adore both colors but have chosen to display the blue. I can picture this with a plain white tank tucked in and some gladiator sandals during the day or jazzed up with jewels and heels for vacation date night!! I also like that this could be paired easily with tights + a turtleneck tucked in for a cooler occasion. Actually, I think this little gem is great because the pattern is subtle and it could be treated like a neutral piece, therefore, quite versatile.

And, speaking of Built By Wendy, I kind of loved these things too!
Hello, polka dots & a navy/pink color combo? Swoon!!! This one is $248.

Ooooh, or this one. Great pattern, looks light and airy and love the calming color scheme. This retails for $270.

Love this top too at $110. It’s got a great shape and varying patterns, which I find interesting.

Apparently, I could have titled this post “I’m in love with Built By Wendy’s entire Spring 2010 collection”. But, I digress. Off to more beachy finds.
When going to the beach, I like to have a cover up. It’s nice to run back and forth between the room, the car, the concession stand (I can’t be the only one who spends 50% of my time at the ice cream stand, right? or maybe this is the reason I like the cover up more than the bathing suit!!!), the parking meter, etc. in something pretty. Here is one I really like via Anthropologie for $68.

A dress like this would be perfect for milling about the beach and drinking fruity cocktails with little umbrellas. This pink and tan print is fun and fresh and comforting somehow. Maybe because the dress name is “Pink Cinnabuns Dress”. It was only $37.99 and with good reason is no longer in stock. This was from ShopRuche, which is worth checking out for sure (hello, cute dress, under $40!!).

And lastly, who doesn’t love a flip flop with a little bling. Plain white tee and shorts + these babies is instant fun!! I love them, though they are rather pricey but I didn’t look for a less expensive alternative since for now, they will only be running around in my day dreams. These are Mystique via Piperlime and cost $155.

Now, here is an image to keep in your mind today. Ah, beautiful beaches how I’m ready to visit you!!

Happy Monday all!
