Everyday Chic: Spring Shopping List
Earlier in the week I had posted about my closet reorganization and what few items were left on my spring shopping list. Through the reorganization, I came to the realization that many of the spring trends I was hoping to channel are possible with items already in my closet!! So, I thought I’d take this chance to list a few high and low end options for my 8 spring wish list items!!
1. Summer Wedges
First is a pair by Cynthia Vincent via Piperlime for $350. These are one HOT shoe!!

The next is a Vince Camuto wedge also via Piperlime for only $98. Not too bad and they look strikingly like a pair of CL’s I was coveting last summer!!

2. Leather/Faux Leather Cream Jacket
This one is actually grey, but it’s so beautiful, I think it would serve the same purpose just fine!! It is by Mackage (one of the best coat designers I’ve seen) via SSense for $595.

This one is cream and at a much lower price point. Only $39.80 via F21.

3. Trouser Jean
First, an option from JCrew for only $108. I think I love these. Dressy, classy, put together!!

Next, a sale item from Alloy. A wide-leg version by Spoon for only $41.90. I do think these are quite lovely, but they might overwhelm my 5’2” frame!

4. Brightly Hued Clutch
First, a lovely yellow clutch from Kate Spade. It’s sleek, it’s shiny, it’s yellow and it screams sunshine is coming, it’s also $325.

Or, this little handmade number from Toon Design’s Etsy shop for only $12! In Tiffany Blue, super sweet.

5. Chanel Inspired Jacket
Here is one by Milly via Net-A-Porter for $495. Everything Milly designs makes me feel like a lady who lunches. It also makes me feel like getting dressed up to go shopping, drinking champagne and just meandering about the city. Ah, dreaming can be fun!!

Next is a beauty from JCrew, though the price isn’t much better, $350?!?! So, what I have decided is I don’t really have a NEED for this item given my current situation. So, just like that, I’m taking it off the list! Maybe come fall I’ll add it again!

6. One shouldered dress or shirt
First up, is this lovely by Tibi via Bloomingdales. Love the graphic print, the shape and the fact that I think it can be worn during the day with flats and heels to glam it up at night. It is $288 (though really, if any of us bought it today it would be $230 since Bloomingdale’s is having a Friends & Family sale - Code is “BFRIENDS”)

Or this lovely from Ali Ro, also via Bloomingdales for $242 (or $194 if you purchase now with the code). I like this too because you could knock out gorgeous floral print and one shouldered dress with one purchase!!

And just because I’ve been loving this for a while, you could choose this Cobalt Blue dress via ShopMamie for only $60. Have a wedding to go to? Oh, me too! And I think this beauty would be perfect!! Hurry up, these are moving fast!! Based on the beauty, price and size of the photo below, I’d say it’s the clear choice here!!

7. Nude or Blush Top:
Though this top is in porcelain, I’d like to state for the record, that my current color is also porcelain and therefore, on me, it would be the proper shade of nude. I love this top. Great shape, lovely rosettes and great color. This is a Kate Spade via Bloomingdales and retails for $265 (or, you know the drill, $212).

Oh, and now I’m really in love! How many times have I fallen in love during this post? I need to get a grip. But seriously, this is a lovely top from Shop Ruche and it’s only $42.99! I love it’s chiffon ways and there are still flowers!!

8. Lace Top
I like how flowy this Free People blouse via Shopbop is. I also like the Ivory color. It is $128.

And, I have had my eye on this one from Modcloth for a while. I like the exposed zipper and the shape. I think you could make it just a little less sweet and a little more rock n’ roll!! Oh, and I’m all about that!! It is $70.

So, what is your opinion? High or low?
Here is what I would do if I were shopping.
1. High ==> Shoes in NYC are your vehicle. Cheap shoes don’t last long and as far as I’m concerned, wedges are always in style. I’m short, what can I say?
2. Low ==> Eventually, I’d like to get a “keeper” but right now, I have yet to find that perfect jacket. I have a vision in my mind, when I see the right coat I would consider it an investment piece, however, for $40, this baby will do the job!!
3. High ==> These are truly only Medium anyways, and since I’m no longer working in a Corporate job, I think they would function as a dress pant for several seasons.
4. Low ==> The yellow clutch is beautiful but right now it’s just not in my budget. But this beautiful Tiffany Blue, handmade clutch for $12, well, it is!!
5. This is a SKIP. The more I think about it, the more I realize, it isn’t really filling any wardrobe holes, it’s just a “WANT” at this point.
6. Low ==> I have a lot of dresses and since I would like to, despite that, still get a new one for the upcoming wedding of my cousin, I’m going with this less expensive stunner!
7. Low ==> Like I said, it’s a beauty and the price is right!
8. Low ==> I think that lace can be delicate and so, I’m not confident that the more expensive top would last any longer or better. Plus, I love that exposed zipper!
So, there are my spring picks!! How about you?
Have a lovely day and let’s all look forward to more warm weather!!
XoXo
