Everyday Chic: Keep On Keepin’ On

I’ve been a little vacant lately. Working on a few projects, the fundraiser and enjoying this beautiful spring weather! Today I’m going to do a little spring cleaning since my husband isn’t home & I can crank the music, open the windows and blare the tunes!! I’m kind of excited for another purge.

My husband is actually at South By Southwest this year. It’s pretty exciting stuff. The event itself sounds like a blast and I’m kind of sad to be missing it. He plays guitar in The Royal Chains and they are on Merrifield Records. They recently released a new EP - Bear Island (which is AWESOME!!) and they will be playing a showcase on Saturday. So, if you are at SXSW it would be a fun show to check out. Everyone on the indie label (created by Mike Hindert bassist of The Bravery & lead vocalist of The Danvilles) will be playing the showcase. I’ve seen most of these guys live here in NY and it is totally worth checking out.

The showcase is being held at The Tiniest Bar in Texas on Saturday from 2PM to 10PM.

Anyways, this is what I wore the night before Danny left for SXSW.

He was taking a 5:30AM flight, so we did a quick drink/dinner at one of our favorite neighborhood spots.

It was St. Paddy’s Day (I know, I’m not wearing green, but we decided to celebrate with the others in Park Slope on Sunday!!) — and we did a little walking first, so these shoes were perfect for the night.

Where: We sort of wanted to do an Irish pub, but as you may have guessed, these joints were mobbed and we were really in the mood for a low key, catch up over a beer kind of night. So we went to an old standby for us, Sheep Station. We love this place. Super friendly staff, great beer selection and the food is awesome. I typically get the steak sandwich and sometimes the Mussels and Fries. Both always hit the spot.

Inspiration: I had a manicure on St. Paddy’s Day. And the color I chose is Essie’s “Boat House”. A coral, peachy, hot pinky delight. I LOVE it and I think I’ll make it my signature color for Spring’10. As I was getting my nails painted, I kept thinking of the tee in my closet from JCrew, and so, simple as that may be,  here it is. The outfit isn’t really so special, but cute and casual none the less. Perfect for the kind of night we had planned.

Outfit:

Tee: JCrew (Summer 2009)

Jeans: AG via Anthropologie (Summer 2009)

Sweater: Tulle via Flourish - A fun little boutique in the town Dan’s parents live - Granger, IN (Christmas 2009 Shopping trip with the MIL). I thought it was the greatest little shop and I can’t wait to check in during our next visit.

Shoes: Fun little flats from Eric’s on 7th Ave. I think I’ve said this before, but I love this place. Eric is so nice and so are all the gals that work there. Super helpful, great selection and I prefer to shop locally when I can. So if you are in the Slope, check them out!!

More to come later today!!

Enjoy the sunshine.
