Everyday Chic: Challenge Day 11 & 12
The challenge continues but my ability get outfit pics is in a bit of a rut. Yesterday I had a busy day and spent a little time planning my outfit. I really liked the outcome, but the day ended with a ladies night happy hour which, was big fun. I lost track of time and missed the opportunity to photograph the outfit. On tap for the weekend, learn how to use the self timer and look for a tripod.
Today was a bit of a rainy, allergy induced haze. My outfit is not really exciting enough to photograph. Your basic jeans, boots and a turtleneck. It’s one of those days of errands, busy work and naps. Oh, and a really expensive trip to the vet. No, no, they are healthy pooches, just so expensive in NYC.
So, since I liked the outcome yesterday, let’s see if I can’t recreate it a bit for you.
I wore this printed top tucked in to a pencil skirt with a belt and a cardigan. Which gave the look of a dress. I added some teal tights and grey pumps. All in all, I was quite pleased with the end result. Not all of the items are exact but I did link you back to where you can purchase each piece if you like.

My belt was not quite like this - more of a muted tone and it is suede, but you get the gist :-)

Where: Morning errands, afternoon appointment and happy hour. A bunch of lovely ladies met up for Happy Hour in the South Street Seaport. It was my first real happy hour in ages. Back in the corporate work days, we did happy hour quite a bit and I always enjoy a 5PM cocktail, so this was quite nice.
Inspiration: A while back I had ordered tights from WeLoveColors. I ordered teal and hot pink and I’ve been hesitant. Yesterday, I built the outfit around the tights. The belt was a similar hue and the the combo of the tights and belt really brought out the wisps of teal in the printed top. I love when you tuck a long blouse (usually I’d wear this over leggings) in to a skirt and it gives the same feel as a dress. I was surprised by how much I liked the bright tights, so I’ll definitely try it again and maybe for the spring in a more pastel hue.
As a side note, I really liked the We Love Color tights. The color was dense, they didn’t appear too opaque and the texture is luxurious. I will be back for more, once the shopping ban is off of course.
Well, I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
I love to hear what everyone thinks - do you like brightly hued tights? Do you do the skirt/shirt/belt = dress combo much? Feedback is fun!!
