Everyday Chic: Baby L @ Week 16

So much for blogging regularly. Dang. Since I took that 3 month hiatus I’ve struggled to get back in the groove. Truth be told, my current situation does not exactly require me to dress up so much. Which leads me to not take pictures. Which leads me not to blog. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t schlep around in sweats and tees every day, but I’ve been wearing a uniform of sorts - the same summery dresses with flats or shorts and tees. I still try to make it fun by adding cute jewels or a scarf but nothing seems photo worthy to me. But, I often do things in the evening or weekends and I am hoping to start photographing those looks - maybe get up 3 outfit posts each week? A girl can hope!

I’ve got plenty of other things to say and share so I’ll do that instead for now. I’d like to have more structure to my posts and I’m working on that. In the meantime, I’ll share my thoughts.

So, last week we had our 16 week doctor appointment and ultrasound. I feel pretty lucky because I’ve been fortunate enough to have ultrasounds every 4 weeks - which in these early stages where you aren’t feeling much movement - it gives some relief and assurance that all is going well.

The 16 week anatomy scan was AMAZING. It’s so crazy all that you can see and our technician was awesome, explaining everything she was seeing. They take measurements and pictures of everything imaginable. You can see the heart and it’s 4 chambers and blood flowing in and out! You can see the bones in the teeny tiny arms and legs and those cute little tootsies and hands! You can see the brain and the umbilical cord and the kidneys! You can see the babies profile, covering the face with the hand, sucking the thumb and generally moving around quite a bit. And most fun of all, you can see that she is a baby girl. This part we couldn’t really see but the technician showed us what to look at/for and confirmed that Baby L is a Baby GIRL!!

We could not be more excited and I’m doing all that I can to stay out of the local boutiques. Of course, we did run out and get her a little winter sleeper because we just couldn’t help ourselves!! Here are some other things I think are just too cute!

1. Baby Legs - ($10-$12/pair) Come on. Tell me this isn’t the cutest thing you have ever seen. EVER? They have some that are pink with pink hearts. Yeah, if Baby L makes it here on time she will be rocking those on Valentines Day 2011.

2. Baby Headbands With Super Big Bows! Big Bow Baby - Love them, love them, love them! The bigger the better :-)

3. Baby Beanies - Also with bows :-) via I’ll Be Yarned’s Etsy Shop - $25. A little steep for a baby hat - but cute as can be!!

4. Ruffled Fancy Diaper Covers - via BonBonLand’s Etsy Shop $16- Because Baby L will be fancy!!

I could also look at vintage baby dresses, baby bath robes, wooden toys and wooden blocks all day long. I couldn’t be happier.

Happy Monday!!

XoXo
